Iowa is looking at Significant ice accumulations Wednesday with a system expected to produce rain falling while high temps will remain right around 32.F In that area a Ice Storm is looking pretty likely, Farther north, most of Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin will see partly sunny, to partly cloudy skies. what is left from the ice storm in Iowa will effect places north Thursday and Friday.

Local View.
As a fairly significant Ice Storm effects Iowa for Wednesday, Skies will clear out a bit here in our local area, Mild temps will continue for us as well, With Partly Cloudy to Partly Sunny skies. but Thursday, whats left of the ice storm will move into our area, But this system will weaken as it moves north, so this will leave us with mostly cloudy Thursday, with off and on light freezing drizzle or light flurries, It is expected to remain light. Fog may also be an issue for Thursday, Friday skies will remain cloudy, with Fog possible, light drizzle or flurries will be possible through the early part of the, but it is more likely to be dry then Thursday. skies may clear out a bit Friday in the afternoon. Temps will also be mild for Friday with highs in the upper 20s but if skies clear lows in the lower 30s would definitely be possible. Daily Forecast below.

Wednesday, Partly Cloudy to Partly Sunny, Mild, Highs in the upper 20s. Wednesday Night, Increasing Clouds, Fog possible lows falling into the mid teens.

Thursday, Cloudy, with Light Freezing Drizzle or Flurries possible at any point during the day, Highs in the upper 20s. Thursday Night, Cloudy, light Freezing Drizzle still possible, Fog also possible lows falling to the upper teens.

Friday, Cloudy, with light freezing drizzle or flurries possible early, Then ending, possible some clearing in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 20s to low 30s. Friday Night Partly Cloudy to Cloudy, lows in the low 20s.

Looking Ahead, Major wintry storm possible for this Weekend.
the models are showing a large wintry system possible for this weekend. with this storm on our heels, I will likely needing to be issuing forecasts for this as early as Thursday or Friday. It is likely a Major Winter storm will happen somewhere in the upper Midwest, it's just not completely certain where. Forecasting a Precipitation type will be difficult for this system, because we have a mild air mass already in place. Right now, it appears we will be on the just warm enough side of the system for Freezing Rain. Saturday, possible leading so some icing accumulations, then Sunday it appears like as though colder air will move in that will turn the freezing rain to snow, minor accumulations possible. This system needs to be watched Very carefully. any movements of this system to the East could mean a Major winter snow event, or a possible Freezing rain event. It is not all completely sure at this time that is why it is important for people to come back here or go to the NWS for updates of this potential Major Winery Event.
