Back to January! Colder, Arctic Air settling in Thursday


Regional View.


A cold high pressure from the North behind our last storm system will bring us back to January, More clouds will be spread through out the upper midwest Wednesday, but Thursday, Arctic air will settle in and provide cold temps across the entire upper midwest, with sunny Arctic sunshine. Friday will be dry and Sunny highs moderating a bit.


Local View.
Wednesday we will likely have some more clouds spread through the area, but I believe we will have partly cloudy to partly sunny skies, winds will be quite cold from the Northwest. Thursday, Things clear out as Arctic air slides south, It's back to January as Highs on Thursday will only make it to the upper single digits for highs, this will make for a Cold Thursday Night, lows will fall well below zero, around -10 -15 temperatures are likely across the area. Friday things will not warm up much, But the cold airmass will begin to moderate some, Highs will likely make it to upper single digits to very low teens. Skies will be Sunny, Friday night will still be cold with lows below Zero.


Wednesday, Cool, Cold northwest winds, Partly Sunny to Partly Cloudy skies, Highs in the low teens. Wednesday Night, Cold lows in the lower single digits below zero.


Thursday, Cold, Sunny with highs in the upper single digits. Thursday Night, Cold, with Clear Skies, lows falling to the upper to mid teens below zero.


Friday, a bit warmer, but cold, highs in the upper single digits to very low teens. Friday Night, Cold, lows in the upper teens below zero.


Looking Ahead.
looking ahead, temps will moderate fairly quick for the up coming weekend, it looks like by Sunday highs will reach to upper teens. then early next week Monday the 1st the models show a system passing to the north, That could spreads some light snows over the area, likely minor accumulations, behind that colder air for middle of next week, then it shows light snow chances for late next week still cool, then by the 6th to 8th, the models show a fairly active period for snow, it shows a series of clipper systems with minor accumulations. So all in all, the models show a cool week ahead with a few chances at light snows, Remember as always, This will change so return for farther information though the week.
