NW Wisconsin gets buried!

our car under 7 inches of fluffy snow!

Parts of Northwest Wisconsin are now buried under a thick snow pack. a band of snow formed off of a low pressure system to the south that was stronger then I forecasted. A localized band of heavy snow formed off the low, this snow band extended from St Croix Falls and Osceola east to Rice Lake and Chetek also, the band trained over the same area most of the day moving west to east. Very heavy snow fell at least half of the day in most areas where the snow band continued to train over the same areas. reports of up to 15 inches was reported in Minnesota, and reports of over 14 inches have come out of the 6 county area. Snow started about 3AM I thought the snow flakes in this system were huge! after 1PM the snow band began to sick south and weaken. this was definitely a strong winter storm! snow was even blinding for a time.

Heavy Snow almost completely blinded this veiw of pine trees across the field you can tell how big the flakes are.

snow is still falling in some areas and may still accumulate not all of the reports are in yet, but here is a list of some Snow Reports: NW Rice Lake 14.25" Trade Lake 12.0" Osceola 8.50" Grantsburg 8.0"Clayton 7.70" Birchwood 6.0" Menomonie 5.50"

before the wind picked up the snow was so fluffy and it was coming down so light that it even piled up on these apples still clinging to the tree.!

Winter Storm Today!

Weather map for Monday, Monday night and Tuesday

I see a system moving though the area in the Forecast models. This systems looks to be a Strong Clipper system that will develop and move east into Minnesota Monday Night an Tuesday Moderate to Heavy snow appears to be likely on Tuesday. the best chance for snow at all will be later Monday night into Tuesday ending Tuesday Night. The best chance for the heaviest snow will be during the day Tuesday. the Models show that the highest Snow accumulations will be in the area I lined with light blue lines, some things have changed big time this system will be stronger then I first expected. Within the blue lines as much as 4" to 7" Inches will fall with areas up to 10" inches. areas not in the blue lines will see less then that closer to 2- 4 inches maybe up to 5 especially close to lines I drew on the map.

People in the area need to make planes to stay off roads this afternoon a Winter Storm will impact the area, with Heavy snow is likely!

Freezing Drizzle Friday, Warm temps continue

A large system forming to the West, has pulled warm mild air ahead of it causing Freezing drizzle which has been falling all day, Temps has raised to freezing or just above freezing. Now with this cold snow pack on the ground, Some fog may be a problem tonight. Be careful on the roads. freezing drizzle has coated the trees and snow, the trees have been coated enough to make the branches start to bend. Today has been a gray gloomy mess! the warm temperatures are nice though. looks like Freezing Drizzle and Fog will continue to be a problem until a cold front sweeps though later tomorrow. forecast coming up.

Weather map for Friday Night Saturday and Saturday Night.

Warm mild temps, freezing drizzle and fog will continue though Tonight and some of Saturday. this may cause some very slick spots on roads. fog may also be Dense tonight and tomorrow morning. Lows Friday night will only fall into the upper 20s to 30. Saturday a cold front will sweep though which will clear out the fog and freezing drizzle. Highs before the front goes though will be in the 30s on Saturday. after the front goes though Freezing drizzle will turn to flurries or light snow. only light accumulations. Saturday Night flurries and light snow chances will still be there, lows in the teens for temps everywhere.

looking ahead to Sunday shows there will be a cloudy weather. But temps will not be too bad!as we stay in a warmer pattern, highs will be in the 20s. looks like high temps will actually stay in the 20s though Tuesday of next week!

Christmas Forecast

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, from Clayton,Wisconsin!

hope you enjoy this picture taken of the northern half of downtown historic Clayton on December 24Th. looks snowy I think!

Weather map for Wednesday Thursday and Thursday Night

looks like for Christmas Eve will be fairly good. only some passing clouds from a system to the east. so Partly sunny to sunny I will say, Today will be like, with highs reaching the mid and upper teens. Christmas Day looks good too. Partly sunny to sunny skies. getting cloudier late in the day, with highs getting warmer into the 20s! perfect! But Christmas Day Night we will have a good chance of snow as a system develops from the south maybe 1-2 Inches for the area. may come down Moderate at times so if your traveling be sure to slow down!

Friday looks warmer yet. possible reaching the freezing mark? with a chance for freezing rain and snow. more on this later. have a good Christmas!

White Christmas for sure!

Snowfalls from the Parade of Storms that we have had, which caused snow to pile up on our Picnic table like this!

Tuesdays snowfall is starting to end, except for some snow showers continuing in the Northern areas places like Siren, Spooner and Rice Lake will still have snow falling. Snow totals show that most areas had an even snowfall, Reports include Baldwin 3.0 Inches 3.0 Inches also fell in Rice Lake and us here in Clayton also got 3.0 inches. so it seems like everywhere got an even 3 inches! We have a good snowpack now, with most areas having at lest 6 inches on the ground. but a snowpack of 10 inches deep! is common  though-out the area. so a very White Christmas this year! We have had quite a snowy December this year, we are already over the average snowfall amount for December!

Looks like our weather is going to turn sunnier and a bit warm soon and Christmas looks good so far! but a Systems will be close by right after Christmas.

Here is a neat photo! the fluffy light snow on trees was blowing off in some of the wind gusts. There was no snow falling at this time. made it look blizzard over where it was falling!

Monday, December 22, 2008

More snow tonight after this sunshine!

Weather map for Monday Night and Tuesday I thought since it's the week of Christmas I would try a Christmasy look!

A Low will develop as it moves into the area. Snow will push in sometime Tonight. I think that Moderate snow is very possible. it will be a pretty fast moving system. but not before dumping 1-4 inches over Northwest Wisconsin, In areas of heavier snow the snow totals may be a bit higher Maybe closer to 5 inches. Since the air is somewhat Dry is may take awhile for the snow to reach the ground. lows tonight will fall to around zero or just below it. Tuesday Snow chances look good during the first part of the day. then some lingering light snows highs will actually warm into the low 20s for all of the area. Tuesday Night still snow chances will linger because the system is close by, there will not be much accumulations of snow during this times. lows actually staying above zero Tuesday Night. Wednesday ( Christmas Eve ) will probably start to clear out some!

looking ahead for Christmas it looks like we may have sunny weather! with highs in the 20s! but then slight chances for snow move in Thursday Night.

Major Storm Saturday

Snow that was on the wind protected side of trees

Saturday light snow started to fall early in the day, snow stayed light until about 4:00PM here then a Heavy snow band began to move east. between 5 and 7PM snow was coming so heavy that for a time it was blinding and was coming down so hard that car lights passing on roads were hard to see. the snow flakes were huge in this snow band! about 3 inches of snow accumulation in between 4 and 7PM after 7:00PM the wind started to really pick up and started to blow around the fluffy snowfall. I was driving home at 7:15 and I could not see anything while the wind was blowing. so I stayed at very low speeds. There were snow drifts that were big enough to go over the hood slightly when I passed a field where snow was blowing off it and over the road. Village streets were nearly impassible especially side roads, like the street I live on.

I measured a snow drift 11 Inches deep crossing our sidewalk. even though snow accumulation here was under 5 inches the fluffy snow was really blowing around. I was surprised to see that this bush that I took a photo of last week in the photo above was almost completely covered with only the very top sticking out. here are a few snow reports Baldwin 6.0" Connorsville 4.80" Rice Lake 4.80" Grantsburg 5.50" Cumberland 3.50" Clayton 4.0" Clear Lake 4.0" Haugen 4.0" Hammond 4.80" Ridgeland 3.80"

here is a photo of the snow tunnels that I've dug though the snow, it's really been piling up!

Weather will remain cold today with highs not reaching much above zero even with the sunshine. Tonight will be Very Cold definitely Below Zero all areas. places will bottom out in the mid -10s but a few low -20s are possible everywhere. it will stay cold on Monday before another system moves in on Tuesday. I will have a forecast out tomorrow.

Winter Storm Saturday and Sunday.

Weather map for Saturday Saturday night and Sunday.

A pretty good, Strong Winter Storm will develop over the area, first starting in Minnesota. then moving into Western Wisconsin. Snow is likely with this system! there is also a chance for Heavy snow. The Models show Snow moving in and becoming heavy for a time. then getting lighter before another wave of snow moves in from the north. Snow will start sometime during the day Saturday Before 12PM. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper teens. By Saturday Night the storm will be here. Moderate to heavy snow will be possible at this time. Lows Saturday night will be in the mid to lower single digits. The Snow will last into Sunday. Winds will also increase Sunday causing areas of blowing snow. Winds may gust to as high as 30MPH on Sunday. Minor to Significant accumulations are looking likely for the area. Total storm amounts I think will range from 4 to 8 inches. but higher amounts are possible. there is a chance that 10 or 11 Inches are possible locally.

People in the area should prepare for Winter Storm Conditions Including Heavy Snow, strong winds and Moderate to Significant snow accumulations this weekend!!!

Behind this cold are will then invade. highs will only be in the single digits once again. Wind Chills will be cold too.

Snow and More snow!

Forecast Map for Tonight and Friday.

Models show a system moving in from the South. but still I am not sure how far north it will actually go. Milltown, Osceola and Cameron to Rice Lake areas have a chance to see 1-2 Inches. New Richmond, Hudson, Baldwin and Menomonie have the best chance to see 2-4 inches. but River Falls to Downsville have the greatest chance to see 6 inches. A slight nudge north in this system would send the heavier amounts north. This Snow will be mainly an overnight thing. Snow has the chance to be moderate at times especially in the South. Lows tonight wont be bad at all, with cloud cover lows will only fall into the teens! Friday snow lingering especially Southeast areas, later in the day there may be some clearing. before another system moves in. Highs Friday will warm to near 20 for all areas.

Saturday another system is forecasted to move in. This one does look a bit stronger. and could bring minor accumulations there is a chance that accumulations will be Significant. Cold air will move in behind this system. looking farther there is a chance for a 3rd snowy system to effect Tuesdays weather.

Fluffy snow!

Tuesday a Snow Systems moved right east though the area. the snow flakes started out small and fine grained but then were bigger and the snow ended up being fluffy but the time snow ended. The Picture above snows how this snow even piled up a bushes that have dried leaves still on them! most places got about 2 inches places north got a bit less Sarona reported 1.8 almost 2 inches. over by Hertel just 1.0 inch. but as much as 2.50 inches was report at Connorsville! Here in Clayton we ended up with 2.0 inches. The snowpack is back to the level it was before Sundays storm!

Snow Systems will continue to train over us one by one. Snow is forecasted Thursday and again this weekend I will issued an early forecast later!

Snow Today. getting a little warmer.

Weather map for Tuesday Wednesday and Wednesday Night.

Light snow will fall today. the Models show it may become Moderate later. Snow accumulations will be less in the Northwest areas and more everywhere else. a Trace to an Inch to 3 inches of snow is possible Watch out for slippery roads tonight. Highs today might warm up a bit more then yesterday. we will warm to just above zero here in the south. but places north may only make it to zero or remain below zero it's hard to say. Tonight has the best chance or Snow- possible moderate snow but the Best chance of snow will be earlier then snow will quickly end. Lows will not be nearly as cold as Monday Night. Tonight lows will fall around Zero or slightly below may as cold as -5. Wednesday Sunshine will move in skies will be sunny to partly cloudy. Highs will actually warm up to the low teens above zero! which is actually still not that warm! Wednesday Night may be cooler because of more Clear skies. lows may fall to as cold as the -10 below zero range in the north to slightly warmer south.

Looking Thursday another System will move in. Temps will be warmer. but it may be strong enough to bring some better snows. Snow chances right now are looking pretty good. with minor accumulations.

COLD Today!

Rain frozen to branches after the temps plunged.

Yesterday we had a Huge change in the weather. for the first part of Sunday it was mild. and we actually were getting moderate rain showers. Many places got over a half inch of rain! My rain gauge pick to 0.68 of Rain. But While we were getting Rain places mainly north of a line from Frederic to Rice Lake were getting snow/sleet. Temps raised well into the upper 30s and low 40s across the area. most of the snow on the ground by 3PM, was gone. expect for a slushy Inch and half. Then at sometime after 3PM the Strong Cold front went though. Temperatures quickly plugged below freezing, Wet pine tree branches and trees froze, and wet slushy snow turned into an icy mess. In the Picture above the water did not have a change to finish dripping off the tree before the temps dropped. Then later about 10-11PM a heavy snowband drifted into the area. this band dropped 3 inches of snow across most of the area. Snow totals in the north from this system ranges from 5-6 Inches. Here we got 3.0" Inches with drifts up to 8" Inches. the wind was gusting to 31MPH at times, it almost looked Blizzard-Like. Most of this change in weather happened at the end of the day. here is the part I think is amazing.  at 3:00PM here in Clayton it was 37.F With Drizzle. By 11:00PM it was 2.F with Heavy Snow! that's a drop of 35 degrees!

Arctic Sunny weather.

We are Sunny now, but We have a strong Arctic Air mass overhead. Temperatures will likely not get much above zero today. Places in the south have the best chance of getting above Zero highs there will range from the very low Single digits to 0.F and in the North most communities will likely be Below Zero, Highs will be in the the upper -0s. Tonight Clear Skies should make the perfect conditions to go well below zero in all areas. places in the north could go as low as the -20s to -25s range. and places in the south mainly in the -10s possible getting into the -20s in some areas. With some slight gusty winds Wind Chills will be very cold Today and tonight. Make sure you dress warm!

Tomorrow I see a System move in from the south in the models. looks like just minor accumulations are possible. and it will be a bit warmer then today. Forecast later.

Major system for the weekend.

Weather map is based on models at this time 3:28PM Saturday. Things may be totally different depending on which way the Systems goes.

Well I know one thing for sure. A Major system will be coming for this weekend. But if it comes as mostly Rain or Snow is still not 100% decided. Right Now the models show The low moving a bit more east then first thought. This means that we will get a bit more snow. the track is still not full clear. Saturday Night, the Major system will be here. and we will have a good chance of rain, snow or sleet, there may be some snow/sleet accumulations, it will also be Breezy. Sunday Starting off as rain snow or sleet. then turning to all snow later. Temps will start off in the low to mid 30s before falling off big time later. there might be some snow or sleet accumulations with this system but I cannot be totally sure right now. Sunday Night temps will fall off quite a bit. we may have lows in the low single digits so we will drop quite fast after the front goes though. People in the area should prepare for Wintry preip of Freezing rain Sleet of snow and very Windy Conditions. We Should also prepare for the chance of Significant Snow Accumulations if things change.

If this system changes at all! our weather will be way different. a Shift to the east would mean more snow. possible minor or significant accumulations. and if that happens we may have near Blizzard Conditions at times, with Winds gusting to 30MPH. I wont be around to update the forecast Tonight or most of Saturday.

After Sunday this system will pull some of the coldest air of the season! HIGHS on Monday may only be in the mid single digit's! more on this later.

Light snow possible Fri, possible storm this weekend.

Christmas Decorations on Clayton AVE  Dec 10Th

Hopefully Everyone is enjoying the Christmas Decorations the village put up. I know they must be kinda hard to put up! I believe they did it with a truck and loader. so thanks to the village for putting up Christmas Decorations again this year!

Quick look at the weather: Looks like we have sunny skies and cold conditions right now! this is due too a cold front that moved though last night we have Arctic air overhead right now. It looks like things will cloud over as a clipper system moves just to the southwest we might even have some light snow here. little to no accumulations though. still looks like we could go below zero tonight in some places but with a Warm front nearby might be a bit warmer especially if the winds turn south. looks like with a system so close tonight I will say that late tonight into early morning hours there may be some light snow or flurries, mainly North. that also might hold temps up. Friday may be some light snow or flurries. Warmer air will start to flow in ahead of a system that will effect the area later. highs will be in the teens to 20s I will say.

Weekend Snowstorm possible!!! It looks like there will be a large system that will effect the area. looks like a pretty strong on right now. but the track of this system is not 100% yet. if the low goes more west, could be less snow and even some rain, but if it moves more east then Snow is looking pretty likely and could even mean significant snow accumulations. but Not sure on totals yet. I will have a better forecast tomorrow when it becomes more clear in what this system will do. it also looks like we will have some windy weather with this system then behind it looks likely the coldest air of the season so far. I personally hope it's snow with this system!

Here is an Idea I thought was cool. Instead of putting a Christmas tree in my room, I just put lights on my Weeping fig tree. This plant I got from a Spring Market garage sale. It is well over 20 years old. I've owned it for 2 years going on 3. there is 100 lights on this tree!

More Snow?

My Forecast Guess for Wednesday, Wednesday Night and Thursday

I had some people give me Tips that I should make my Forecast Guess, more like " My Own" I've added my own map again as many of you noticed. So now I will try to word this to make it sound like more my own I also am starting to look at more Forecast models. Comment on this post, do you think I did better?

Forecast: Wednesday I think it will start off Sunny but with clouds moving in fast it may just be cloudy, clouds are from an approaching Weak Clipper System, Judging by the Models I would say snow will be light. Total Event accumulations Maybe a Trace to and Inch but Most likely on the lower end. I think Highs will be in the teens to 20s. Monday Night Snow showers becoming more scattered. otherwise I would say it will be mostly Cloudy Accumulations will be light Maybe a quarter inch. Temps wont fall off too far With the cloud cover. Teens should be our low Thursday We will have Scattered snow showers or flurries though-out the day. with just light accumulations looks like highs in the teens to 20s once again. Thursday Night Models still showing
scattered snow showers. as little systems continue to move our way. Lows could be on the colder side looks like mid single digits to below zero? if we get some slight clearing we would definitely go below zero in most areas.

Looking into the Forecast I see Friday there is snow chances might be some accumulations not sure on totals yet. might even warm close to the 30s for the weekend. Looks like there might be a storm system, looking even father into the Models, looks like Sunday and Monday. could mean big snows for are area, This is something to watch as we get closer to the weekend.

And Thanks Doris for your comment I normally delete Warning posts after they Expire I did get your comment though, Thanks again!

New Snowfall totals

Front of our house with the Snowpack December 9th

The latest system brought Moderate snow to the area. This system was a very unpredictable system which it had already proved that by a shift north. This system developed in the plains and got stronger as it moved east though Iowa. The snow on Monday was different. the flakes were small, and if you had to shovel snow you could tell it's a different snow then in the last system. looks like places in the south has the highest accumulation.

Here are some snow reports from Mondays storm Which proved to not be as much as I forecasted. Clayton 2.0" Connorsville 1.80"Rice Lake 1.60" Hopefully more reports will come in later! With a Very snowy past few days, with accumulating snow 3 days out of the past 4 we now have a pretty thick snowpack. our snow pack is about 4.0 Inches right now. I think that is just enough to snow mobile on! snow lovers enjoy the snow!
I know this bush was in my last Systems photo, but this Juniper I planted back in spring has not had a chance to lose it's snow over the last 3 systems, so 3 systems worth of snow on this bush! my Green snow shovel to the left!

Possible Winter Storm ???

A winter storm has shifted north and is expected to impact the area. Snow Will start this morning and possible getting heavy in the Afternoon into Tonight. See Map for my guess on Accumulations. Places South of the Lighter blue line should end up with 3-6" places like, Amery New Richmond and Rice Lake. Places south of the darker Blue like will get closer to 4-7" with amounts up to 10 possible, places like Baldwin and Menomonie. This system has shifted significantly but, There is a chance that this system could take a different path and snowfall totals may change. People in the area NOW need to prepare for a possible Winter storm With Moderate to Heavy snow and minor to Significant accumulations. temperatures on Monday will be Warmer, highs will be in the mid to upper 20s.

Monday night There is now a good chance of snow. Moderate at times, Temps will fall to the low to mid teens. Tuesday there will be a slight chance of light snow. otherwise Partly to mostly cloudy skies, with high temps in the low to mid teens. Wednesday there will be a slight chance of snow later in the day, Highs will be in the low to mid teens. and Wednesday Night a better chance of snow. with lows in the low to upper single digits

Looking Ahead there is a chance for another Clipper to come though around mid week, Then Very cold temps are possible with highs only low teens possible. Click here to see info on Sundays snowfall

Clipper Winding down, Snow totals

New snow December 7th

A Clipper System effected the area Sunday. and is now starting to wind down. Though, There could be some Light Snow though-out the night. Snow started coming down lightly at about 11:00AM Sunday, and by 12PM Snow was coming down moderate to heavy in many areas Here we had Moderate to heavy snow from 12PM Though 3pm. With Cold temps the snow is very fluffy and dry-like snow the flakes were big, so it could almost be swept off sidewalks rather then shoveled! now that we had 2 clipper systems the past few days most areas have a good snowpack! Here are a few snow reports from Sundays clipper. Grantsburg 2.60" Webster 2.50" Clayton: 2.25" 6 NW Rice Lake: 2.0" Trade Lake: 2.0" Connorsville: 1.50" Last night before the snow started many places Fell well below Zero for the first time this season. here are a few reports of lows -9.F Amery ,-9.F Osceola, -8.F Clayton, -8.F Rice Lake and -4.F Menomonie. Dirk Reported -11.F at his weather station about 6 miles northwest of Rice Lake.

Here is another look at the fresh snow!

Below Zero Tonight. Another Clipper Sunday!

Weather map for Tonight, Sunday and Monday. I noticed I typed Tonight Night, sorry Ignore that! I'll fix that when I get the chance.

Tonight will be Very cold across the area. Lows will be below zero in most areas. Especially with this new Snowcover. Lows in the north will be close to -10.F While in the south closer to 0. Wind Chills will be quite cold too. Below zero, ranging from -4.F to -9.F. in some gusts. Make sure to Dress warm anyone going outside. Sunday Another Clipper System will move in with a front and Low. The best chances for snow will be later in the day. and overnight Sunday into Monday. Snow be light to even Moderate at times, again. it looks like Snow accumulations will range from a Trace to 1-3 inches. but if the system is strong enough there may be some locally 4 inches. but this is only a Chance. People in the area should again prepare for Moderate snow and Minor snow accumulations. Highs Sunday will only be in the low to upper teens. Sunday Night we have a good chance of light to moderate snow. lows will be Warmer then Saturday Night, with temps mid upper single digits North, to mid teens south. Monday Snow chances continue with highs in the mid to upper 20s. looks like Monday night things cool off a bit and there will still be a chance for snow! enjoy the snow!

Looking ahead, all I see is Cold and more snow! guess will see what comes out but, this is typical early December weather! Please see Post Below for Snow totals from Friday Night clipper!

Snow!

Photo of the 2 inch snowfall that now covers southeast Polk County.

Friday Night snow began to move into the area it came down actually Moderate at times but by Saturday morning the snow has moved on. I noticed at first when the snow started, the wind was gusty so Snow was blowing around. And the Snow moved in fairly quickly! within an hour of the snow starting, the ground was White. I think many people were even surprised to see so much snow on the ground by Morning. I saw that the snow flakes were smaller and the snow on the ground is power-like.
Most places across NW Wisconsin got around 2 inches and reports show, Hammond 1.50" Clayton 2.0" Menomonie 2.0" Cumberland 2.0" Rice Lake 2.5" Sarona 2.0" So seems like everyone got at least an inch! My Forecast guess coming up soon!

Thursday, December 4, 2008

Very Cold night ahead, Clipper System for Friday Night.

Weather map for Friday, Friday Night an Saturday. Map may be changed between this time.

Looks like we finally have some snow to talk about! Friday will be cool, may start off clear, but then Clouds move in. Highs will be in the upper teens North with low 20s south. With chances of snow getting higher as the day goes on. Friday Night is when a Clipper system will move in from the northwest, it has a better chance of bringing snow then past systems With Snow likely. Snow will be light, but could come down moderate at times. Total accumulations by Saturday. will be from a Trace to 1 to 2 inches, but some signs point to as much as 3 Inches are possible! in some areas, but Clipper systems can be unpredictable. I hope we get higher accumulations! people in the area should prepare for moderate snow, and minor snow accumulations Friday Night into Saturday. Lows Friday night will be warmer then Thursday Night should only fall in the low to mid teens. Saturday Snow may linger into the day. then later may clear up some. Highs on Saturday will be in the low to mid 20s. looks like Saturday Night will be a cold one again. with below zero temps possible.

Looking Ahead it looks like early next week another storm system may move into the area, this one will have the Chance to bring higher snow accumulations, this is just something to watch right now. not sure on snow totals.

Quick Snow Report

Bare Ground December 3rd

A System Effected parts of the area. Snow formed last night in the south. Places south of a line from New Richmond to Sand Creek got minor accumulations Menomonie picked up 2 inches Places east of Somerset got less then half an inch. While places like Amery, Rice Lake and areas north saw nothing at all. Some people around the area are looking foreword to a good snowpack for Winter sports! looks like the next snow chance is Friday Night there will be a chance of snow but it does not look like a lot. More on the forecast tomorrow.

Looking ahead forecasts.
I wanted to say something about my looking ahead forcasts. Strong Cold front, snow accumulations possible.

Monday was Cold windy and we had Flurries all day. The snow you see on the ground is snow that we got from Sunday which was Half an inch.
Weather Map for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Tuesday, A strong cold front tracked across the Minnesota and Wisconsin. With this front Light to Moderate snow could fall later Tonight,  Snow Accumulations by Wednesday morning will range from a Trace to 1.50" with the best chance at an Inch or more south of a line from St Croix Falls to Cameron. Behind this Front will be much cooler weather and a chance or flurries off and on from Tuesday, though Thursday small accumulations are possible from these little snowfalls. Highs on Tuesday ahead of the front were in the low to mid 30s, not too bad! but now the front moves though Tuesday Night and it will be cooler and breezy. There will be a good chance of snow Tonight, which may be moderate in some places especially near the Menomonie  area. watch our for that, lows will be mainly in the lows 20s. Wednesday there will be a chance for flurries. may be slightly breezy, with Highs in the low to mid 20s Wednesday Night we will have a chance of Flurries with lows cooler, in the upper 0s to low 10s. Thursday it will be Cold with a chance of flurries. Highs may only be in the upper teens to low 20s! more on that later, enjoy the week.

Looking ahead it looks like a larger storm system may effect the area around this upcoming weekend into next week. it will have the chance to bring heavy snow to the area, possible the highest snow totals so far this season? These are just chances right now so We will have to see!
