Saturday Morning, Low clouds and Fog finally cleared out, This allowed for some much needed warmth, temps to rose above freezing for the first time Since December 25th, Highs were in the Mid to upper 30s across the entire 6 county area, Finally allowed ice and snow on roads an sidewalks to melt off, We also lost an inch of our snow cover since Wednesday. It was definitely a Beautiful Mild January day. many people were out soaking up these mild temps. because most of us know it could be a lot colder, I was looking back in my recorded, and saw that last year on this date January 16th 2009, We were 6.F for a high! Here are some reported Highs across the area.
The highest temps seemed to actually be in places across the North, possible because of how many trees there were to moderate the temps in the area, The highest temp reported was 38 degrees in Siren. as you can see many places reported 34 today.
Mild temperatures for this time of year will continue though the week it appears. Even 30s for highs lasting through the weekend.

Boohah!!
I had 37.0 degrees today and 39.5 degrees yesterday. The sunshine hasn't been terribly strong due to cirrus clouds, but after weeks (months) of limited sun, this has been fantastic! :)
Had 16" of snow on the ground this morning, here on Maple Hill, but that might be closer to 15" tomorrow morning. Looks like we cool off a little until later in the upcoming week. That storm on GFS around the 25th will be something to watch, just in case, right D?
Glad you felt some of the warmth today, Derek!
