Much Needed Rainfall Hits The Area, Turning Warmer Next Week!

Black Eyed Susan enjoying the wet weather August 28Th

Much needed rainfall hit the area early morning Wednesday and then again late Wednesday into early Thursday! This rain was widespread so everyone got at least some rain! The most rain fell in Central St Croix County, places like Hudson and Roberts got 2 inches of rain! Menomonie and Colfax getting 1 inch of rain. And even up north places like Siren and Webster got around 1 inch of much needed rainfall! Here in Clayton from the total rainfall event, we got 0.52, that's about half an inch, so it was a good amount and it should help out allot!

Here is my forecast guess for today though Friday. things will warm up starting Saturday, and by Monday ( Labor Day) temps may be reaching close to 90.F!

light severe weather chances

Image From http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/

Link to local watches and warnings http://www.crh.noaa.gov/hazards/mpx

There is a light chance for a few Severe Thunderstorms today/tonight. With a line of storms that should be coming in late tonight, the best chance of rain, and some of it will be heavy rain, will be overnight into early Thursday, Damaging winds Large Hail and Heavy rainfall are the main threats with these storms, also, tornado's are possible but the chance and this is not as high. the chances at rain are looking higher when I look and the forecast models it even looks like some areas will get heavy rain!! as much as 0.75 are possible all across NW Wisconsin, and we need it! higher amounts are possible in stronger storms and some places may not get as much that. There was some Showers and Thunderstorms that pushed though this morning and some stations are reporting some better rainfall amounts Amery picked to 0.21 so far Clayton got 0.18 New Richmond 0.14 so some places already getting some rain, and more to come! Keep an eye on the weather tonight! just in case

Rain Chances For Wednesday

Image from
http://www.crh.noaa.gov/wxstory.php?site=mpx

Rain chances are looking on the better side tomorrow. first early on the morning, but that's only if the showers and storms can hold together, from ND. Better chance for rain in the late in the afternoon and overnight. The chance for rain is coming with a strong cold front, and it looks like this one may actually produce some much needed rainfall! People can expected to get anywhere from .20 to 0.50 or more! The chances for higher amounts are possible in the stronger storms! The chances for severe weather does not look high, but some storms may produce some small hail and gusty winds. Hopefully this system actually brings some good rainfall amounts! After that looks like Sunshine comes back into the forecast, with highs in the upper 70s close to 80s everyday. Also hot weather may be coming in for Labor Day. If the chances for severe weather get higher I will try and make a post tomorrow.

Here is my forecast guess this one was hard, because the best chance for rain looks like late Wednesday into early Thursday morning but with a Warm and cold from near by, a pop up shower or storm is possible anywhere!

Trip to MN, Coldest air of the season last night so far

Stillwater,MN August 24Th

Our trip to MN was fun! I did not get any photos at the fair, our car was in Roseville. and we took a bus to the state fair in Falcon Heights,MN there was So many people there! I've never seen so many people at one place! It was Fun! I stopped at the NWS Booth and took a peak! and there was allot of other booths I would say there was a booth just about for every kind of hobby anyone has! and they sold lots neat food. I got you try a deep fried peanut butter cup and it was really good! they sold just about everything they could put on a stick! I even seen the Amery,Wisconsin band marching in the parade, it was kinda nice to see a band from my area! I recommend anyone that's is thinking of going to go!

And now about last nights cool weather. some places had low temperatures in the upper 30s and some people even got frost early this morning mainly in Washburn County. Rice Lake Airport outside of the city was a cool spot! there a low temp of 37.F was reported! Barron reported 37.F last night. Clayton Amery and Osceola all reported 44.F last night and in the city of Rice Lake it was only 41.F so not all places got the upper 30s. Warmer weather is in the forecast for today highs today should reach the upper 70s to low 80s! and lows tonight the upper 40s and even warmer Tomorrow night lows will only be in the mid 50s now that's more like it! next rain chances move in on Wednesday! enjoy the sun. here is my guess in the forecast, for Polk County and the surrounding 5 counties!

Early Frost in some areas of the north tonight!

Image from http://www.crh.noaa.gov/wxstory.php?site=dlh

Sunday high temperatures will be on the cool side, highs will only be in the low 70s North to Mid 70s south. skies will be sunny and bright and winds should be light! tonight forecast is the main story. there is a chance for frost! Skies will be Clear tonight and with this cool high pressure system overhead low temperatures could be as low as 34.F! allowing for Patchy Frost to form in some areas. The chances for frost are mainly in northern Burnett and Washburn Counties and the best time for frost is after 1AM. Other areas should be free of any frost. but still a cool night forecast ed. Lows in Polk Barron St Croix and Dunn counties should be in the low to mid 40s. If you live Northern Burnett and Washburn Counties near Minong and Springbrook. It's best to take in any plants and flowers that you may want!! after tonight things will warm up allot! with high temps in the 80s by Wednesday and low temps will stay in the 60s!

I'm going to the Minnesota State Fair in Saint Paul,MN Today! I will try to get some photos!

here is my forecast for the 6 county area. I changed some things in my forecast guess.

Severe Weather was a Bust, a Sunny Cool Weekedn forecasted

Day lilies August 22ND

The Severe Weather chances Friday Night turned out to be a total bust! And now any rain chances will have to wait until next Wednesday. We only saw 0.4 of rain this evening. it will not help out much. I did some Math adding up our rainfall totals from June 1st to August 22ND, and I found out that here in Clayton,Wisconsin we are 6.09 inches blow normal from average rainfall for this time of year! Weather for this weekend will be Much cooler then it has been this past week. a High pressure system behind this cold front will move in. Temperatures for This weekend will only be in the Mid 70s Saturday and the low 70s Sunday. Temps for Saturday and Sunday night should be cool with Saturday night lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s and on Sunday night mid 40s will be common in most areas but with the Dry air in place some places may drop cool as the upper 30s in the northern counties! then a warming trend for the upcoming week!

Rain Chances Increasing

Image from http://michiganwxsystem.%20com/

The chance for rain is increasing for Thursday, Thursday Night, Friday and Friday Night. Tropical-like moisture from the south will stream up and bring the chance for popcorn-like showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, they will be isolated, so only some communities will see the rain. Temps on Thursday will be in the low to mid 80s, With Humid sticky conditions. There is a better chance for storms on Friday and Friday night these storms will come with a cold front, so the chance for widespread rain is better. Friday high temps will be mid to upper 80s with humidty still high so it will continue to feel sticky and look hazy. It looks like some of the storms on Friday and Friday night could be Strong to Severe, I will have an update on the severe weather chances tomorrow. So rain chances are looking better then they have in awhile! hopefully everyone gets a nice rainfall!!! after Friday night looks like back to sunny weather! but should not be as cool as that forecast says above, for Monday and Tuesday, should be closer to 80. keep your fingers crossed for rain! many areas needing it very badly!

Hot weather with a chance for some storms

weather over the next too days will be hot and possible stormy Tonight, Monday and Monday night the storms will be isolated. so only some places will see rain. if you are lucky enough to get one of the storms, it may have heavy rain, lighting, and possibly gusty winds and small hail . other then that skies will be sunny. and under the strong August Sun temperatures will rise into the upper 80s across the area. so it will feel very Hot outside. the hottest weather looks like it will last into Tuesday. but it will be very warm though the rest of the week. Last night we were luck enough to get a small storm. it bought heavy down pours and just a little bit of wind, in total we got 0.12 of rain, not too bad, when we need it as much as we do. hopefully we can keep getting some of the storms. below is a photo of the rain we got yesterday.

Rain,Rain don't go away!

rain drops hanging off of a Bald Cypress August 12Th.

many places got some much needed rain today, as an area of light to moderate rain showers pushed though. It was even heavy in some places. most people got around 0.10 of rain, but some communities got more. Amery picked up a good 0.84" of closer to 1 inch! New Richmond got 0.60" over a half an inch! and Clayton received 0.24 just under a quarter inch of rainfall, it was a good slow soaking rain too, so it should help out a lot. And it looks like everyone got a share of the rain. Hopefully rain continues for come in, because we are still well behind in average rainfall. Tomorrow looks like there is still a chance of rain. And Warmer as well. Temps should be in the 70s to 80s the rest of the week, with chances of rain though Thursday, then more sunshine is one the way!

Chance for some much needed rain, and Severe Thunderstorms? A part of our land is up for sale

There is a chance of some very much needed rain for the area early tomorrow, and throughout the day, this rain will come in the form of Showers and Thunderstorms, it will come with a passing system and cool front, and because of this some of the storms may become severe. There is also the risk for heavy rainfall. Most places could get as much as a 0.10 of an inch to 0.75 of an inch of rain! which is very well needed across Northwest Wisconsin.

We are selling 40 acres of land, the area of land that is for sale is the wooded side just to the north of our house. this parcel of land, is in the village of Clayton village limits. it will be a surprise to see who buys it! hopefully who ever does, does cut down that many trees. particularly an old White Pine tree just to the north of where the new boundary between our property will be. the reason for selling is high land costs. for more information of our listing please go to http://www.21homesearch.com/search.cfm?action=listing_detail&property_id=3583389&searchkey=b4ed0860-b499-45f2-724e-c115a4280f5b&npp=10&sr=1

DOWNTOWN Saint Paul,Minnesota

We went on a road Trip Sunday afternoon to the Midway Train station in the Saint Paul, City limits it was a pretty fun cool. this was the first time I've ever seen Downtown Minneapolis and Saint Paul in person and they are pretty nice Cities. Traffic was not too bad passing though at 6AM on a Sunday, even as we passed the skyscrapers of Downtown Saint Paul!, but the roads were filled with traffic by 10:30AM I actually thought the traffic would be much worse, but on the weekdays it must get pretty bad. weather was perfect for this trip! sunny clear! there was no humidity at all so it was kinda cool when we were out of the Cities in Wisconsin. but temps quickly raised.

DOWNTOWN Minneapolis,Minnesota

We actually did not go into Downtown Minneapolis this was just the view we saw from the eastern sides of Saint Paul, near the train station

Photo taken by Dirk Miller of Rice Lake,Wisconsin Link to his website http://www.storm-chaser236.com/

The photo above taken by Dirk Miller shows some of the major storm damage that happen in the area on Sunday afternoon. the storm moved east from Minnesota it first did damage at Luck. where trees and power lines were reported down right in and around the village of Luck. then it kept moving east. winds were so Strong that it snapped power lines and trees completely off in the Cumberland area. The storm really got strong as it approached the City Rice Lake, Trees were reported down all over the Rice Lake area, and a roof of a home ripped off 2 miles south of Rice Lake. This was a powerful storm. Power was out for some people until 3:00AM when the storm hit at 3:30PM. Here at my house. the lights were flickering on and off for about 20 minutes as these storms moved though to my north. these storms were severe But they did dump some much needed rain in that area. we only got 0.10 here in Clayton.
