The picture above pretty much explains the weather over the past 2 days, Rainy and Very Wet! We had our 2nd storm system in a row here, producing hefty rainfall totals across the area, This low was a bit stronger then I thought it would end out being, Rain started late Monday, light rain continued overnight and lasted All day Tuesday, some of the rain on Tuesday was heavy in some spots, You could just watch the entire area preip on radar spinning away because of how strong this system was. Wind was much lighter then it was last system but there was still a few gusts.
My Rain gauge Oct 6th this was taken at 5PM we ended out with a bit more then in this picture.
This is the rain gauge I use officially, and as you can see we really got rain here, I got a total amount of 3.37" inches, What is interesting is we are now Well over the normal October average for rain and it's only Oct 6th! but this is good news. The rain was the perfect type of rain steady and long lasting so it was perfect rain which will help a bit with lake and streams. and it is also helping us catching up a bit on our drought.
The heaviest totals from this system were in Southwest areas in places like New Richmond and Hudson. Those areas could have picked up well over 3.50 inches. but it seems like everyone got at least an inch in our 6 county area.
It looks like this system will move out a bit quicker then I first had forecasted, now I believe, we will get a nice break from the wet weather tomorrow, It also appears like we may even get some sunshine!, and temps will be warmer. Enjoy it because we have a Very cool air mass on the way for late week. More on this by Wednesday or early Thursday . when I release my next forecast.

Seems there may have been some mix precip falling over the Northwoods last night... I noticed that the CoCoRaHS observations didn't report any signs of flakes... did you hear of any flakes falling yesterday?
Check out the radar by clicking the "daily weather description" for today's observation from the October Daily Observation page.
Potential first freeze for me coming soon!
No, No flakes in my area, but I did see the possible mix on radar east of me. We could have our 1st flakes of the season by Friday Night and Saturday.
And yes there might be a Deep freeze here!
