1st Snow flakes & snow accumulation of the season.

Snow accumulation on our car. at Dusk Oct 10th.

We saw our 1st snowflakes of the season here across all over our 6 county area, Every reporting station reported light snow early this morning, The snow did come earlier then expected, most snow fell between 3AM and 5AM this morning, The snow formed along a cold front and was actually moderate at times, most places got between a quarter inch of snow and a half inch.

Black Eyed Susan plant covered in snow, Oct 10th in my experience, Normally this plant doesn't see much snow, it's normally long dried up before that.

Snow started at my location a little after 3AM with temps at 32.F-31.F and it actually became moderate for a short time, We also had some winds over 20MPH which kinda blew snow around. What is weird about this snow is, It was actually dry and powdery, normally in my experience I would think 1st snows are wet. reason for the dry fluffy snow is because shortly after if started to fall temps dropped into the upper 20s behind a cold front. The snow lasted a little over an hour at my location, and officially I measured 0.50" (Half Inch) of Snow. Snow quickly came to an end, skies became clear, temps dropped like a rock falling to 24.F on my station by sunrise.

Cold day ahead even with sunshine highs may struggle to reach the upper 30s and low 40s, and Tonight the Coldest night of the season still expected tonight lows are forecasted to fall into the low 20s and even upper teens in a few spots.

Snow! Nice. I was checking out the Northwoods Cam Network and most places north of you got some accumulating snow. Down over here, no snow but we did record our first freeze of the season.

Clouds are rolling in now, perhaps we'll see some frozen precip this afternoon. I doubt it though... should be above freezing by the time if arrives.
