Very Cold Overnight Lows Saturday & Sunday Report.

Saturday Morning Lows (left) / Sunday Morning Lows (right)

We had Very Cold temperatures here the past few days, but Saturday and Sunday Night were especially cold and Everyone in the area fell under a Deep Freeze, under Clear Skies, lows both Saturday and Sunday nights plunged to there coldest levels so far this season, lows fell to the Mid and lower 20s across the entire area, The coolest temp was Spooner on Sat Morning at 21.F and Grantsburg, on Sun Morning at 21.F
Our yard covered in leaves which all fell off overnight due to the deep freeze.

Low Temp at my location were also Very Cold both nights, I fell to 24.F Saturday morning highs on Saturday only topped out in the mid 30s! Then we fell to 25.F on Sunday Morning. We had a deep freeze both nights and all the rest of the plants have been froze off, Even some weaker trees dropped green leaves overnight! you can see this everywhere around my local area, When we drove through town, I seen quite a few spotty trees like ash and Maple which lost all there leaves overnight because of the cold temps, the sidewalks and yards were filled with a blanket of colorful leaves. Even Some fully green trees even dropped all their leaves, Most Hardier trees held onto their leaves, Look at this amazing comparison below of a Ash tree in my yard.

White Ash in our Backyard Thursday October 8th.

White ash in our Backyard Early Sunday October 11th.

After we had the Snow early Saturday morning, skies cleared and lows plunged to 24.F by Sunrise. This was Cold enough to make the Ash Tree in our backyard shed all of it's leaves at once! Shortly after we temperatures fell well below freezing, the tree starting dropped leaves immediately, and 2 hours later by 10AM, the tree had no leaves left at all, and the leaves covered our sidewalk and roof, This was the same case for 2 other trees in our yard. This all occurred on Saturday between 6AM-10AM, I have seen this tree drop leaves when there was a few leaves left of it due to cold, But I have Never seen it to this extreme where the entire tree lost it's leaves at once, I also asked my Dad about it, and he said that he has also never seen this happen to this extreme, so it was a interesting experience.

D, that's rad about your Ash tree! Thanks for sharing that! Indeed it got cold. This morning my recorded low was 25.5° and I had to golf at 930am. We had a frost delay to say the least, but once the temps crept above freezing we were let out on a shotgun start. It was a chilly day... compared to last year when it was in the upper 60's lower 70's. :)
