There is a Slight Risk For severe thunderstorms in place today across Iowa, South Dakota and Southern Minnesota. This includes most of the local area. Thunderstorms are expected to develop in South Dakota and track across Southern Minnesota. These storms could remain severe long enough to impact the area. The best time for severe weather will like be after 5pm. Damaging winds, large hail and heavy torrential rain are the main threats.
