Preparing for Spring alreay? Process of Daffodil Project.

Start of the process December 28Th 2009.

A couple people took interest last year in my posts about my Daffodil Project, So this year I thought I would show everyone the entire process of my project!

I started this project 2 Springs ago in 2007- 2008, with one pack of 12 yellow daffodils, (see This post) I thought of this project as an idea for a possible solution for a problem I have growing Daffodils in the ground, when they would always turn to mush by Spring, Well my simple project worked, and I now have beautiful spring flowers every year, but after the first project went so good, I went even farther then just Daffodils, I also now added Tulips to my project.

I always start this project just after Christmas in preparation for the following spring, after buying the bulbs in Sept and Oct. I re use or buy plastic cups, I always plant 2 bulbs per cup, fill it it soil, and put them in an old fridge, where they will stay until the ground thaws in Spring, The date always varies from year to year, in 2008, I planted them April 5Th, and in 2009, I planted the Daffodils on March 20Th, which is Very early, and the Tulips were planted April 6th, to see the 2009 project click here Ether way These bulbs have a long wait ahead! This year I'm going to have, 14 Red Tulips, and as always for tradition, 10 Yellow Daffodils, And I'm also trying some new colors I've never had, 12 Yellow Fringed Tulips, and 10 White Daffodils with orange-yellow centers, See pictures above.

I will have more updates on this as we head through winter, Thanks for viewing this post!
