Winter Weather Advisory

Thursday, May 5, 2011

A fair weekend ahead Nice and dry Friday, turning wetter Sat/Sun but not all day rains.

Regional weather view.

A mild and stormy weekend ahead for the Upper Midwest, first one last nice dry day, with highs reaching the mid to upper 60s to low 70s region wide. Saturday a weak storm system will spread some spotty showers and thunderstorms across the region, some showers will be left over for Sunday as well, The thunderstorms are not expected to be severe.

Local View.

Locally we will have a very nice Friday ahead, it will be the best day out of the next 3. We will have sunny skies and warm temperatures reaching the upper 60s with light winds. It will definitely be a day to be outdoors if possible, Lows will be in the mid 40s. Saturday will be a bit wetter, but it will not be the type of rain that's all day and steady. Instead it will be more like a showers or thunderstorm at times with dry weather afterwards, There could even be some sunshine at times through out the day Saturday, Highs will be in the mid 60s Saturday, and lows in the mid 40s. Sunday there will still be a chance of a shower or thunderstorm, but it should be drier then Saturday. There will also be a bit more sunshine. because of this highs will be in the mid to upper 60s, and lows near 50. So expected a much weekend then what we had last week for sure, but expect to doge some showers or thunderstorms.

Friday, Nice! Sunny skies calm winds. Highs in the upper 60s. Friday Night, mostly cloudy chance of showers towards daybreak, lows in the mid 40s.

Saturday, Partly sunny to partly cloudy with passing showers or thunderstorms from time to time. Highs in the mid 60s. Saturday Night, Partly cloudy, lows in the mid 40s.

Sunday, Partly cloudy, a chance of some afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Highs in the mid to upper 60s. Sunday Night, mostly cloudy, lows near 50.

Looking Ahead

Monday following the weekend looks like a chance of showers and thunderstorms with an approaching warmer airmass that will bring us 70s for highs, and could possibly bring our first 80.F temperature of the season. Thunderstorms look to break out on Tuesday and Wednesday and may need to be watched for severe potential. It cools slightly and dries out for Thursday the 12th. The models are attempting to pick up on a cool airmass coming down from the north from the 13th to the 18ths, but this is new and I'm not going to put much faith in this. Instead I will say it will be a bit cool, but not cold with a chance of rain showers every other day. The 19th it becomes fair for temps and dries out.
