Winter Weather Advisory

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Winter Storm Potienal for Tuesday-Wednesday of the upcoming week- early realease post- and snow likely tonight.

Regional View Early release map.

I'm watching very closely for the potential for a significant winter storm to impact the local area Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Most forecast models have been pretty wild on where the exact track will be, but it is looking very possible the local area will be effected with significant accumulations I don't want to go too detailed into amounts because of un certainty but 6-8 inches would definitely be a good possibility, Especially in southern parts of the local area. Heavy snow and strong winds with blowing snow would a problem with this storm. Which would likely cause travel issues if that occurs. An official forecast

Local view for tonight's snowfall accumulation

Locally while were waiting for next weeks storm system to make up it's mind we will be having a smaller system of our own to deal with. Snow has already begun developing across parts of the area this evening an will continue to fill in overnight. Most should be light but it could be moderate at times, causing some minor traffic issues. Snow should taper to flurries by Monday Morning. and we should have total total snowfall accumulations of 1-4" with the most occurring in Central and southern areas. Lows will be considerably mild Monday Night in the 20s, with a high in the low 30s, Which is a bit cool for this time of year. We should get a short break from snow Monday afternoon but it will likely be cloudy, before more snow re develops Monday Night ahead of a much larger system.

Tonight-A good chance of snow, moderate at times. Lows in the low 20s.

Monday, Snow tapering to flurries, then cloudy. Total snowfall accumulations 1-4" entire area. Highs in the low 30s. Monday Night, Light snow developing, lows in the low 20s.
