March Snow Splendor Monday-system totals accumulations.

Gigantic snow piles March 7th 2011

Very few people across the area would find this new snowfall even the slight bit splendorous as many winter weary Western Wisconsin residents, (including me!) are more then sick of snow at this point! Wither you like it or not snow Winter snowfall totals continue to pile up, as systems keep coming. My location is now well over 70 inches of snow this Winter season, as we continue to snowiest winter in my 3 year records, This winter is even tallying as one of the top 10 snowiest in the region and snow plies around my yard are showing it, there becoming glacier-like mountains that right now seem like they will never melt! The young tree in the right of the picture must be at least 11 feet tall, showing just how tall the piles of snow are.

Snowfall amounts across the area were between near 1 inch to as much as 3 inches across the area. The lowest report was 0.80" from Elk Mound and the highest was 3.20" from Yellow Lake. One thing I did notice about this snow, It did have a wet feel to it, which I like to refer to as spring-like snows. Temperatures were in the 30s after the snow was over which caused some melting right after fell.
