Big system coming in for Monday, Snow, Rain, Sleet, Freezing Rain you pick?

Weathermap for Monday Tuesday, and Extended for Wednesday. This weathermap is based on the models at 11:00AM Sunday. Weather may actually turn out somewhat different.

We are going to have a fairly strong system move into the area from the southwest late Monday, Right now it looks like the Center of the low pressure will track right over the area, and if this track don't change it will mean that we will get the warmer side of the system. We could get anything from Rain, Snow, Sleet or even Freezing Rain and if it ends out being mostly freezing rain, it could get nasty. I am going to go with Sleet, rain and snow, But later Tuesday, cooler air will wrap in and it will turn to all snow. It may stay cooler up north, so it may stick to being all snow there. Snow Accumulations will depend on where the low pressure goes, and when cooler air can wrap in, I generally picked 1 ti 3 inches for southern areas, Menomonie, Hudson, New Richmond, Amery, St Croix Falls, Barron and Rice Lake areas and More to the north of there, Grantsburg, Siren, Spooner, and Hertel areas should end out with 2 to 5 inches. There will be higher accumulations the farther west and north you go, is what I think will end out happening. If the system shifts, There could be more snow, as much as 6 inches! That is what is making this system questionable, Please bare with me on this one. Temps do not look to be too cold during the system, upper 30s for highs and 20s for lows, this will mean if we do get snow, it will be very wet, and may cause trees and branches to break. Stay closely tuned to weather forecasts and warnings, They could possible be a dangerous system.

Monday, Mainly dry during the day, Possible starting off sunny before it clouds up. highs will be in the upper 30s Maybe low 40s Monday Night, a good chance of Sleet or snow, lows in to upper 20s.

Tuesday Sleet, Freezing Rain or snow likely. highs in the upper 30s. Gusty winds Tuesday Night, turning to all snow, cooler, lows in the 20s.

Wednesday Snow Ending highs in the mid 30s lows in the low 20s.

Looking Ahead Temps don't look Too bad, better then what we had on Thursday and Friday for highs, Highs look to mainly be in the upper 30s to low 40s, lows in the low to mid 20s Some Snow chances on Thursday, may have to be something to watch, then Some chances at Sunshine by next weekend. So when will the warmer air come in? Right now we are in a stubbornly cool spring pattern, but it looks like Warmer air may Finally start to move in about midweek next week. Right now, it looks like possible 50s may move back into the forecast? But we will see.

Earth Hour at our house!

Our house before Earth Hour ( sorry about glare on the car in the camrea which caused a refection )
Our house during Earth Hour

We turned off our lights for Earth Hour, including Grow Lights normally left all almost all the time to keep annual plant startings strong. I also turned off heaters fridge and fridge lights and all the lights off in every room. Here is a video of me actually "shutting" down our house for the hour. I kept my comptuer on long enough to see a web cam of Downtown Minneapolis lights turning off, before I turned off my computer for the hour. I did look at Clayton lights and it did seem to be a bit darker during the hour, but Street lights were left on becuse turning thoughs off may cause safety issued, Next Year I hope some of the areas cities and villages around the area will take part, anyway I hope you enjoyed and took part in Earth Hour 2009, I think it is a neat event.
A Major spring snowstorm is possible on Monday, It is un certain where the highest amounts will end up, My forecast guess coming out tomorrow morning.

Cool weekend coming up

Weathermap for Friday Saturday and Sunday,

I've been falling behind on the forecasts so here is a weekend forecast. We are in a cool pattern right now, and it looks like it Will stick around, highs only near freezing on Friday, lows falling well below freezing. We finally warm up Sunday withs highs near 40 It will be mainly cloudy this weekend, with some clearing towards Sunday, There is also a small chance for snow Saturday Night, it might happen, and it might not, if it does accumulations will be light, winds look light, Detailed forecast guess below.

Friday, Cool Mostly cloudy, highs right around 32.F or slightly above, light northwest winds. Friday Night, mostly cloudy and Cold, lows fall into the low to mid 20s

Saturday, Warmer Partly cloudy, possible clearing during the day, highs in the upper 30s Saturday Night Slight chance of flurries or light snow, lows back into the lower 20s.

Sunday Partly cloudy and warmer, highs in to low 40s. Sunday Night, clear to partly cloudy, lows cool in the low 20s

There are some signs of being up and down temp wise though next week, it does look generally warmer then this weekend, with highs in the 40s. There might be a strong system effecting the weather, it could possible be snow, but there is a chance it may miss us all together, There will be another system sometime during the week, so it looks cool and active this next week.

Earth Hour This Saturday at 8:30PM

The light in our yard.

There is a neat event coming up This Saturday at 8:30PM ( local Time ) that I would like to make a statement about. It's called Earth Hour, Maybe you have heard of this before, how you participate in Earth Hour is you turn off lights, and other electric things for one hour, Some Cities have already agreed to take part in it, No local communities are going to take part in it, so it will all be up too the people around the area to turn off lights to make a difference! Nearby Minneapolis,MN is one of the cities that are going to shut off lights. here in at our house, I'm going to shut off our lights for that hour. Wisconsin communities taking part in this include Milwaukee and Fond Du Lac. The reason for doing this is to show how many people are willing to take the plunge for our earth, I think everyone should across our local area should turn off their lights too for that hour, and wouldn't be nice to see how olden day people used to live with no lights at all? Please visit the Earth Hour website to see more information and a statement in how you can participate in Earth hour, and how many other Nation wide cities have signed up for it so far!

System report, Strong Winds, Thunderstorms then Snow

Picture of heavy rain that fell, March 24th

We had a huge weather system effect us the past 3 days, it started out as rain on Monday. Monday Night there was a few quick pop up strong thunderstorms in Central Polk County and northern St Croix county, they started off over by Deer Park, and moved north over Amery, this Storm produced frequent lightning flashes and thunder that I was able to see and hear, This storm mainly produced heavy rain in that area, Shortly after that storm weakened a line of storms formed from Start Prairie down south to Woodville, this line moved north and weakened as it passed Clayton, still was strong enough to produce one close lightning flash, so some of the area saw there first Thunderstorms with rain of the season! Photo was taken March 25th, with light snow accumulation on the ground.

It was very windy during this system, especially Monday Night, you could hear the winds howling outside East Winds gusted to 40MPH here on my weather station, which was enough to blow down a section of siding off our Tin Shed, I also seen a few places with large pine tree branches down, Tuesday, We had some Moderate rain fall over the area during the morning, Then later in the evening Convective heavy rain showers moved though, we were driving back from Rice Lake at the time, we could not see anything though the wind shield, due to heavy rain. Rainfall total ended up being 0.86 here, nearing 1 inch!, The ground it totally un thawed from the rainfall and warm temps.
The warm rainy weather completely open up the pond behind our house, we call is 1st Pond due do it being the 1st one you come up too, smaller ponds and creeks are free of ice here, but last time I looked Tuesday Evening, there was still some ice left on larger lakes, Finally cooler air wrapped up behind this system and produced some snow showers, snow was under half inch, mainly just traces of snow was reported.

Rain and thunderstorms possible.

Weathermap for Monday and Tuesday.

We have a strong low pressure system effecting the area for the starting of the week. which will bring rain showers and even the chance for isolated thunderstorms, Because this is a strong low pressure system, heavy rain is possible anywhere in the area, especially in thunderstorms some places by the time this system is over could be near 1.00 inch of rain. There is a slight chance of strong storms Today, mainly hail or winds, but this chance is very low, It looks like Tuesday has a better chance of severe weather if it happens, hail and strong winds would be the main threats. but the chance at this is still low, 5%, Temperatures during this time will be mild. Detailed forecast guess below,

Monday, Showers and isolated thunderstorms, highs near 50.F gusty southeast winds Monday Night rain showers with an Isolated thunderstorm possible, Lows staying Mild in the mid 40s.

Tuesday showers and isolated Thunderstorms highs mild, in the mid 50s, Tuesday Night cooler with showers, lows falling into the mid to upper 30s.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, things cool off, there will be a small chance for rain or snow Wednesday, which if anything would not accumulation to much. Temperatures through-out the rest of the week look cooler, highs in the 40s and lows falling back below freezing in the mid 20s, I did not want to say this to people who are enjoying spring so far, but, We might have some snow to deal with later on during the week, more details when I know more on this.

Small chance of severe weather tomorrow

Image from SPC Click Here for an updated image

There is a very small chance of Severe weather for parts of the area tomorrow, Mainly southeast of Spooner to Rice Lake line, This chance is small, just 5%, but because it is there, I will post about it. A pretty strong weather system will effect the area tomorrow,  which will produce Showers and Thunderstorms, some may be strong, but if the happen to get strong enough a few isolated storms may become severe Mainly hail would be the main threat from these storms, Maybe gusty winds too Just something people should be aware of. Be sure to check my weather camera because I will be filming all due to this chance.
Daffodils at my aunts farm Saturday March 21st

Here is a photo of some daffodils from Saturday, There are already flower buds showing up! if the weather stays nice they will be blooming soon, These daffodils are planted along the south side of the foundation of her house, and because of this Temps during sunny says can be 10 degrees warmer then the actual temperature and this makes her daffodils way earlier then others, Her daffodils are about 2 weeks ahead of normal ones not planted on southern side of of buildings. Mine just went into the ground yesterday, so there about an inch tall. Just another promise of spring to show everyone.

First Day of spring?

It's supposed to be spring what is this? Is what most peopled asked about Friday evenings snow which ended up being 1 to 2 inches across the central part of the area from Grantsburg to Clayton and Amery to Rice Lake,Barron and Sarona areas. If you were lucky and lived south of there you saw no snow on the ground! Friday evening just before 3pm I was expecting Rain showers, I even put out the rain gauge, and uncovered sprouting flowers, but instead of rain, it came as wet heavy sticky snow, sticking to everything even trees, Pines seems to be drooping and bending pretty far down to the ground as you can see from this picture the pine tree branches in our yard were bend to the ground.

Tonight's forecast calls for the snow to end and temps not to fall below freezing tomorrow it calls for Sunshine and highs in the 50s So this snow will be gone before tomorrow evening.

Continued warmth.

Weathermap for Friday, Friday Night, Saturday Saturday Night, Sunday and Sunday Night.

We will have a small system come though on Friday, it all depends in what time it comes to tell if it will be rain or snow, if it comes earlier then snow would fall, if it comes later, then expect rain, but no madder what it comes as it does not look like much for accumulations, Temps will be mild for the weekend, it does not look like we will have too much sunshine, looks mainly cloudy.

Friday, A chance of rain or snow, little accumulations of rain or snow. highs in the mid to upper 40s with strong southerly breezes Lows holding in the mid to upper 30s.

Saturday, warm Mainly cloudy skies highs in the low 50s, upper 40s in the north, Lows Saturday night in the 30s again.

Sunday, warm partly sunny skies at times, highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s lows staying in the 30s.

Looks like after Sunday temps will stay mild for at least though Wednesday, with highs in the 40s to 50s lows remaining in the 30s Monday looks like a Strong weather system will effect the area right now it looks like mostly rain for this area, possible high accumulations of rain it looks like, then it will turn into some snow at the end of the system, does not look like much snow accumulations. This will be a system to watch, it could bring the first good dose of rain to the area this season. looks cooler after Monday, At this time I see 40s. for highs, but it could all change.

First Flower of the year

Viola  or (Jonney Jump up)

I was outside today and I found the first flower bud of the season here in Clayton,WI, Normally it is the Crocus that flowers first, but not this year, I'm surprised it was brave enough! Last year they did not flower until May, but This particular plant was growing in the fall and stayed green all winter under leaves and snow, and now thats it's warm it decided to bloom.

Most places hit 60 Monday

Our snowless backyard March 16Th

We had a Mild and nice day across the area it looks like everyone in the 6 county area was in the low to mid 60s today, A couple spots even reported upper 60s There is really not any snow left here, only a couple of Ice patches, I did notice some snow left on north sides of woods.
Here is a photo of a Daffodil that decided to take a chance and come out before the calender spring! Actually most of the daffodils are starting in here, If anyone remembers These were my last years projects that I left in the ground. By project I mean I put them in a fridge where they spent there winter instead of the ground, The reason I do this is because I never had any luck growing daffodils or any spring flowers in the ground so I put them in the fridge, and they bloomed! it was my first year trying that, so since I had such good luck I have more in there this year, I'm even trying Tulips, and they are all ready to be planted. We will see if I might be able to plant them earlier this year, Last year I planted them April 4th

Mondays reported high temperatures below it was definitely a nice day! highs will be slightly cooler for Tuesday but still nice and warm. Forecast guess is below this post.

some places reaching 60 Monday!

Weathermap for Monday, Monday Night, Tuesday and Tuesday night.
A very warm and very nice day is forecasted for Monday, and Tuesday. High temperatures will likely reach 60 degrees in some places on Monday!!! this is the warmest we have been in months. And even low temps for Monday and Tuesday are forecasted to be above freezing! A High pressure system and a dry airmass over the area will keep skies sunny, The places that have the best chance of seen 60+ degree highs Monday are south of the Burnett and Washburn county lines, Especially in the New Richmond, Menomonie North to Amery and Rice Lake. NWS maps still show somewhat of a snowcover over Burnett and Washburn counties, especially in the Grantsburg area, so that might help keep temps a little cooler, but mid to upper 50s would still be likely there. Highs on Tuesday will be a bit cooler but still nice, under sunny skies. Detailed forecast below.

Monday Nice, Get out there and enjoy it if you can! Sunshine with high temps reaching the upper 50s to low 60s, mid 60s is not out of the question in snow free areas, A bit breezy with south winds. Monday Night, Warm lows only falling off into the upper 30s to 40. under partly cloudy skies.

Tuesday, A bit cooler but still Nice! Sunny, with highs in the low to mid 50s, some places near 60. Tuesday night, Partly cloudy lows in the low to mid 30s.

I just wanted to make a statement that Spring has sprung! today's warm sunshine and highs in the mid 50s brought up some daffodils on the one side of my garden, This means I Officially declare spring has sprung here in Clayton,Wisconsin. Pictures tomorrow if possible.

Looking ahead, It does look like we will end the 60s across the area, But remember last year we did not even have our first 60s until the weeks from now, Even though there wont be any 60s, temps wont be to bad mainly low to upper 40s between Tuesday and Sunday, with dry weather and sunshine forecasted, But I may have to to talk about some rain chances in here later so, more on this as the week goes through.

Warmer air coming! Weekend Forecast. Staying warm?

Weathermap for Friday, Friday Night, Saturday, Saturday Night, Sunday and Sunday Night.

Lows last night were near Very Cold for this time of year, Lows were as cold as -13.F in Siren to -10.F at my weather station here in Clayton and -14.F in Spooner. Today Expect only highs in the teens with sunshine.

Weather this weekend will really start to warm up, with southwesterly winds, Friday will be the start of the trend as temps warm into the low to mid 30s. And by Sunday there could be some places nearing 50.F for highs! Skies look to be Mostly Sunny under a High Pressure system, but there might be some clouds for Sunday, There was some signs that there might be rain on Sunday, but I really don't think that will happen, but just in case, I will say there is a really slight chance of some light rain Sunday, not amounting to much if it does happen. Detailed forecast guess below. Enjoy the warm weather!

Friday, Sunny, southwest winds a bit breezy. highs in the low to mid 30s. Friday Night, clear to partly cloudy, lows in the low to mid teens.

Saturday, Sunny and Warmer Highs warming into the low to mid 40s light southwest winds. Saturday Night Partly cloudy, lows in the upper mid to 20s.

Sunday, Partly cloudy to Partly sunny Highs in the mid 40s, but if we get some sunshine highs nearing 50 would not be out of the question. Sunday Night Maybe some Preip? otherwise cloudy with lows near 30.

Looking ahead, Temperatures for the next week look Mild and spring like!, with highs in the mid 40s everyday, even a chance for 50 degree weather for highs.  This would put our lows in the upper 20s and 30s I think were setting up into a Spring weather pattern because I don't see any big cool downs at this time. So it looks like our weather just might be starting to get more stable. but Remember it is March and anything could happen.

Snowpack across the area will likely be gone in the madder of days ( I'm not saying it wont return though anything is possible in March! ) I will be watching my gardens and I will report here at my blog when spring has sprung like I did last year, and if the weather is as warm as forecasted, it wont be too long!

Tuesdays, Rain/Snow

Picture of the wind blown snow.

Most places across the 6 county area saw between 2 and 3 inches of snow, Which was less then forecasted, The reason this turned out is because the low was far enough west that most of if fell as rain.

The Day started out mild right around 32 and 33, Then some light freezing rain showers moved though which produced a glazing of ice, Then Convective showers started to form, the first shower came as actually pretty moderate rain here, then the next shower came as sleet pellets mixed with rain, We got a total of 0.8 of rain in the showers. Then a line a snow moved in from the west with an Arctic cold front We had heavy snow and blowing snow with Winds gusting to 30 to near 40MPH I had a gust of 32MPH on my wind gauge, other places had higher speeds. We had a total of 1.50 Inches of snow.
here is a photo of where the sleet pellets built up from the convective showers.
One thing is for sure it is Cold outside today, highs today only going to get in the upper single digits maybe teens if lucky, tonight temps will fall below zero, some places as cold as -10.F

Monday, March 9, 2009

Strong storm system Tuesday Heavy snows likely.

Weathermap is based on the Models at 11:00am Tuesday, weather may not actually turn out this way, any slight shift in the weather system would mean a different outcome.

A strong Winter storm will effect the area Tuesday, Very heavy snow, rain and High winds are likely, The highest snow accumulations in our area right now look to be in Northwest Polk County and Western Burnett county Especially anywhere near Grantsburg in this area, snow totals will reach from 3 to 6 inches. Some warm air will get wrapped up into this system which will make it warm enough to bring rain and snow for parts of the area, in these places snow totals will be kept down. the warm air looks to stay longest in the southeast areas. places like Amery, New Richmond to Turtle Lake will see a bit less then Northwest areas, 2 to 5 inches for this area. The least snow appears to be in east and south areas, Where the warmest air will hold on the longest, but these areas will still see snow once the cold air comes in. places like Rice Lake, Baldwin and Menomone will see 2" 4" inches. Anywhere you are Winds Will be strong, Gusting to 30MPH possibly even 40MPH at times. Which will causes dangerous near white out conditions Expessially the Grantsburg area. After this system passes it will be cold, with cold northwest winds. Detailed forecast guess below.

Tuesday: Rain and snow likly highest accumulations in the Grantsburg area. Strong northwest winds gusting to near 30 to 40PH at times, highs in the upper 30s before cooling down.

Tuesday Night Snow for all areas, Strong cold northwest winds lows in the upper single digits.

Wednesday, Cold, Partly sunny then clearing, highs only reaching the teens above zero.
Wednesday Night Very Cold, lows falling below zero.

Warmer weather will move in by the weekend with temps getting above freezing. Be sure to limit travel tomorrow, A Major weather system is coming in.

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Snow is in the forecast.

weathermap for Sunday, Sunday Night, Monday and Monday night.

Now that most of the snow melted, here comes some more to quickly fill it's place. A System could possible hit on Sunday, definitely hard to forecast for, one model shows this system missing us completely to the south. The other shows it hitting us head on. So I tried my best with this forecast, If it does hit us it would definitely be all snow, but a wet-like snow, possible moderate at times, My guess is 1 to 2 inches, but if the system hits us more it could end up being more. My best guess is that the most snow would be southeast of the blue line, Southeast of the Frederic area, Temps will mainly be in the 30s, actually looking nice temp wise on Monday! Detailed below.

Forecast guess for Sunday ( My Birthday ) Snow possible, could be moderate at times, snow accumulation 1-2 inches, highs in the lower 30s. Sunday Night cloud with some clearing, lows falling into the teens. ( always snows on my birthday it seems! )

Monday, Warmer, partly sunny, some clearing possible. Highs in the mid to upper 30s. Monday Night chances for snow increase. lows in the 20s.

Looking Ahead, It looks like a possible Major Snowstorm is in the forecast for Tuesday, With Heavy snow, and possible high snow accumulations there will be a rain and snow line which may come close to the area, possible even over the area, it is definitely not fully decided on this storms system, but it does looking like a big one. more on this Monday. Dirk also sees this in the forecast, don't forget to check out what he has wrote up on this possible Major Winter storm.

A little About Me.

Photo of me March 5Th

So I did not really want to write this that much, but I guess I should since I'm to owner of this blog. I Deiced to write about what sparked my Interest in weather. Anyway, My 18Th Birthday is This weekend on March 8Th It is Sunday, Which by the way I turn 18 with my 2 triplet brothers. Anyway I thought it would be a good Idea to post this. As many of you know, my main hobby and interest is weather. But I also really enjoy Gardening, and other things like Road Trips and Maps. I'm not sure what sparked my interest in plants/gardens I've just always had this interest. But I do Remember what really sparked my interest in Weather, I Remember liking the weather for what seems like forever, but what really spark it is the Strait Line Wind event in the Summer of 2001, I was between 8 and 10 years old at this time. Anyone living in West Central Wisconsin definitely remembers this Storm. Which sent 80MPH winds though Polk and Barron counties. Ok

My story: I Remember the news cast talking about it on the TV and I was watching the storm on weatherbug.com radar. The TV was warning people to get under cover.  At the last minute, my dad suddenly remembered he had left some gas out that he did not want to get full of water. So he went out and me and my brother watch him outside from the backyard. I Remember this big dark rolling cloud which came from the northwest, the Direction of Clayton. The rolling cloud went over, as our dad was still out getting the gas. I remember looking over to some trees northwest of our house and staring at them for a while, when suddenly the wind hit them, and they were moving pretty severely. Me and my brother screamed ( we did not know any better ) and then I ran inside and my brother and dad were still outside, I remember sticks and Junk hitting the window behind me. My Dad was outside the longest and he said as he was running to the house, he saw the large White ash tree ( a tree that still stand today ) in our backyard bent at almost a 90 degree angle. He also said he saw another large ash tree fall in the backyard. Then we all went to the basement, the sound outside was amazing it was roaring, After it was all over, I Remember Saying We lost a huge tree, and I looked around and we had lost many large branches and a huge arm off the Maple tree, and that one large Ash I mention before, I also remember a branch that was split in half length wise by strong west winds. I Remember riding in the car as we drove though Clayton, There were trees down everywhere, blocking the road. I also remember a small shed building that was blown over in downtown. That was definitely a Major severe storm here, You can still see the damage in the woods north of town. Please comment here and share what sparked you Interest in weather!

Warm the next couple of days.

weathermap for Thursday Thursday Night, Friday and Friday Night.

The next 2 days actually look mild and warm, with high temps in the 40s,. and lows temps staying in the upper 20s, but there will also be priep chances. Thursday there could be scattered light rain or light snow showers, the more later in the morning they happen, the better chance they have of being Rain and not snow. Friday will be somewhat sunny early, but I think it will mainly be cloudy, with the chance for Freezing rain and snow later in the night on Friday Night. With a good chance of rain or possible snow on Saturday. which could end up being a Snowstorm, a Close watch on this. With all the warm weather there will definitely be melting snow, be sure to keep an eye on my weather webcam for changes. Detailed forecast guess below.

Thursday, some scattered rain or snow showers, would stay light. Highs in the lower to middle 40s. Thursday Night cloudy, lows in the mid to upper 20s Enjoy this by the way!

Friday, Maybe some sun early, but then Cloudy, Highs in the low to mid 40s, Friday Night a better chance for freezing rain and snow, possible beginning of a fairly strong system. lows in the mid 20s.

Looking Ahead, There the chance for Possible good amount of snow on Friday Night and Saturday, Right now this area is right on the rain and snow line, which means it could end up being Rain. Even if it is snow, temps will be mild during the entire system so it would likely be very wet snow, Temps after this system goes though look to stay mild and above freezing, Even though Thursday of next week, Looks like a warm spring-like weather pattern setting up.

Monday, March 2, 2009

getting more like March.

Weathermap for Tuesday,Tuesday Night, Wednesday and Wednesday Night.

The weather for these to days Will finally warm up and it will feel much more like early March. Skies over the weekend will range, there may actually end up being quite a bit of clouds but I went with Partly Cloudy, with more Clouds for Wednesday. There is a Slight chance of some snow on Tuesday Night, but anything that falls will be light and little accumulations, There will also be a slight chance of Light preip for Wednesday Night, looks like it will be light and it is unknown what it will come as, may come as snow or freezing drizzle. High Temps will be nearing the 32.F Mark Tuesday but if we have more sun we could definitely warm up to at least the mid 30s, We will be rising above 32.F Wednesday, actually highs will be getting closer to 40 Expect melting snow over these next few days. Detailed forecast Below.

Tuesday, Partly Cloudy to start with more clouds filling in later in the day, Highs right around 32 or just above light southeast winds. Tuesday Night, more cloudy with a slight chance of light snow, Highs remaining in the teens above zero.

Wednesday, Warmer, with more clouds, Highs reaching the upper 30s, with low 40s possible, and light southeast winds. Wednesday Night, a slight chance of Preip, Lows staying Mild in the upper 20s.

Even Warmer look Ahead. Its looking like a warm mild week, with highs staying Above freezing everyday at least though Sunday! There will be a slight chance of some rain or snow during the week, I'm not sure on any accumulations. looking even farther ahead it still looks warm and Spring-like, I do see a few cool days in there, before we warm back up, There must be at least one Rain or a snowstorm, in there somewhere! Hopefully there wont be a snowstorm though, More on all of this as we progress though the week.

Claytoncam is Back!
I have my weather Webcam back online, I will try to have it on as much as possible, but it will not be on all the time, it will be on more Steady after today, I will try to leave it on Between 9PM and 10PM. The view is a Northern View of our side yard, with that garden right in the middle, and the shed off to the side and our old barn in the backround. I will also be viewing rain or snowstorms that come. Please come back and view often, I worked hard setting it up.

Poll. I started a new poll about when everyone thinks the snowpack here in our yard will be 1.0 inch or less. It does not madder when it happens, or if the snow melts down to that, and then we get another storm after that. Looks most people think between 8Th and 14Th at this time, You can get an Idea by looking though my weather webcam and looking at the current Clayton,WI snowcover, Thanks for voting!

Polk County Severe weather "hotspots"

This Map was Highlight, and used from GRlevelx2 Radar Program zoomed in to show Polk County.

Here is a Nice map That Dirk from Dirk's Forecasting Center highlighted to show Severe weather hotspots of Polk County, using the GRlevelx2 Radar Program Map. Him and I were talking and discussing about it over the past Few days. The area Highlighted on this map are areas that get more severe weather the the rest of the county. They are the Severe weather hotspots. Though it may Vary from year to year and which way storms are coming from. Dirk Spent quite a few hours getting Information for this Map. This map is based off of Actual Severe weather reports taken from the last 30 years He also used data from his Chaser longs. I Especially like what was done with the southern part of the county, I like how he included the areas near Clayton, Which would appear to include my house, not areas to the north of Clayton, I think it fits perfectly. Please be sure to visit his website, Dirk has a Map of Barron County hotspots posted Here
