When are these clouds going to clear? Saturday looking warm and Finally some sun for the weekend.

Regional View.

Saturday, Drier air will work in, This should clear out the pesky cloud cover which has been stuck over the area for the past 3 days. This should make for a very nice Saturday, We should finally reach above 32 since Christmas, Which hasn't yet happened, and Saturday looks to be our warmest we will get during this warm stretch.
Local View.

Saturday, drier air from the west will work in, This should clear out our cloud cover, which has kept us from reaching our full potential in this warmth. This will make for a Nice Saturday, Highs should finally reach above 32 for the first time this year, and since Christmas, I expect highs to be in the upper 30s, but if the skies turn out to be mostly sunny, I wouldn't be surprised if some spots surpassed 40.F. Sunday will be a bit cool but still Nice, it will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid 30s. Monday will be a bit cooler then Sunday but still mild. we will have increasing clouds later during the day, highs will still be in the 30s. Daily forecast below.

Saturday, low clouds and fog still possible in the morning, Then clearing skies, partly cloudy with highs in the upper 30s. Saturday Night, partly cloudy and mild, lows in the mid 20s.

Sunday, Mild, Partly cloudy, highs in the mid 30s. Sunday Night, a bit cooler Partly cloudy lows in the upper teens.

Monday, Partly Cloudy, Increasing clouds late. Highs in the low 30s. Monday Night, Mostly Cloudy, lows in the low teens.

Looking Ahead.
This will be a short looking ahead forecast. it looks like were still looking at Mild temperatures and dry weather as we head into early next week. as we head into Next weekend, I'm watching a system in the models which looks to impact our area during this mild spell. At this time, I am unsure, but it looks like it could come as ether snow or rain. right now it is trending towards mainly rain, but a lot can change between now and then, More coming up as the week progresses, Enjoy the mild temps!

Pleasant Mid January Weather coming up next couple days, looks to stay dry.

Regional View.

weather looks to stay mild and sunny, High pressure and a Southwest flow, will bring mild temperatures and sunny skies, This looks to continue through Friday.

Local View

looks like were in for a classic January thaw through Mid week to late this week, with the High pressure to our southwest, and a nice southerly flow, It will make for some pretty nice weather for Mid January standards. Wednesday, we will have Sunny skies and dry weather, this will likely be our first day reaching above freezing since Christmas! highs will reach the low 30s, But I have a feeling some spots could definitely see Mid 30 degree highs, night lows will even be mild, Well into the 20s for Wednesday Night! These warm temperatures may bring some morning fog and afternoon haze. Thursday and Friday we could see a few more scattered clouds around, but it should still be partly cloudy, And highs will continue to be pleasant with highs in the low 30s or mid 30s both days. lows will be well above the zero range.

Wednesday, Mild, Nice! with sunny skies, Highs in the low to mid 30s, Wednesday Night, Mild, partly cloudy with lows in the mid 20s, Fog possible.

Looking Ahead.

This pleasant mild and dry weather doesn't stop at Friday, it looks to continue through the next weekend, the by Sunday the 17th, It shows the 32.F line well off to our north, this will continue to bring mild weather it continues to look mild and dry through the 20th then Friday the 22nd it shows a system passing by, and with this mild air around it could fall as mostly rain in the local area, This will have to continue to be watched through the week, Mild air even may continue past that system, More on this later in the week.

Mild air starts to move in Sunday! then chance of flurries Monday, then clearing and Sunny for Tuesday with highs appoching 30-Updated

Regional View,

Mild air will start to move in from a large right of warm high pressure to the west, This will push mild air east starting on Sunday, Monday a small weak system will pass just to the east of our area, This may bring some light snow or flurries to our local area, then it will Clear in time for Tuesday, Tuesday will be Nice and mild.
Local View.

Sunday, Mild air will begin to move in, this should allow people to feel the difference temperatures compared to Friday and Saturday's highs, It looks like Clouds will move in quicker then I first thought so skies will actaully more likely turn out partly sunny, but it will still feel pretty nice, Highs will reach the low 20s Sunday, and Lows will actually be above zero! Monday we could have some Light snow or flurries with a passing weak system, Snow accumulations, I believe will be light, maybe a dusting, or more. but nothing big at all. Clouds will clear our quick, and allow for a Sunny Tuesday, Tuesday will be the warmest day we've had in awhile, Highs will be in the upper 20s and approaching 30 degrees, I actually have a feeling some places will top 30.F Tuesday, this will come with Sunny skies! night lows by this point will be well above zero for Tuesday Night, This will feel very nice after the Arctic air we've just experienced. Daily forecast below.

Sunday, Warmer, with skies Partly Cloudy to Partly Sunny, Highs in the low 20s. Sunday Night, cloudy, lows in the low teens above zero.

Monday, a chance of light snow or flurries, light snow accumulations. Highs in the low 20s. Monday Night, Clearing skies, lows near 10.F

Tuesday, Sunny to Partly Cloudy, and Mild, Nice! highs in the upper 20s to low 30s Tuesday Night, Partly Cloudy lows in the mid teens.

Looking Ahead Forecast, looking Nice!
Daytime highs will continue to rise with each passing day even as we go through Tuesday, by Wednesday highs could be topping the freezing mark for the first time since Christmas, even better, Skies will remain sunny with a ridge of High pressure effecting the weather. Highs look to be in the 30s from Wednesday through Friday, it will remain Dry though this time, It looks to cool off in time for Saturday and Sunday the 16Th and 17Th, and it looks to remain cooler into early to the middle parts next week, with some snow chances on Tuesday the 19Th as the cooler air moves in, It shows cooler temps, But it doesn't look cold through this time, then by Thursday the 21st is again shows mild air moving back in from the west. So the looking ahead forecast shows Mild temps, with no real cold drops ahead, with some light snow chances,
Remember, There will be changes in the models, so continue to come back for more info.

Looking Ahead.
Arctic Air wont last long after Friday, even on Saturday temps will be much warmer, as the models show Warmer air moving in from the west, It will stay dry, Highs could reach near 30.F on Sunday, before it gets a bit cooler, January 11th, but then Middle of next week January 13th, Then models show an even warmer brief air mass moving in from the west, Highs could even get above freezing. then the 14th We have a possible small system that could bring light snow, This system shows to bring a bit cooler air behind it, Then it looks much cooler around the 17th, with some light snows possible, then it shows warmer air moving in once again around the 20th, I see no large storm systems in the models at this time.

Cold Sunday Morning! Temperature report.

Cold Arctic Air mass Jan 3rd Taken in the fields West of my house.

Cold West and Northwest Winds blowing across this field above can and does bring some of the harshest winter conditions, our house sits on top of a large series of hills, which makes our house a target for the full force of Westerly and Northwesterly winds, In this picture, I am standing at the top of one of the hills, The land starts descending downward behind me in this picture, We live on the Highest point in the Village of Clayton, Some day, I will take a picture and show everyone what it looks like from the bottom of all these hills.

A Cold High pressure brought down some Very cold air for this weekend, lows were sent well below zero in the -20s and Highs in some places didn't even get above zero! Wind Chills on Saturday were Very cold close to -40 in some locations. All of this Cold air was brought down by a high pressure system, and Northwest winds coming strait out of Canada. Temperatures reported Below.

This is a list of Coldest temperatures reported during the entire weekend, Some may not be the actual coldest temp reported because I didn't get to view the data before it cleared, But I think this is very close, Regular cold spots like Grantsburg and Osceola, were very cold, Grantsburg was nearly -30 Below Zero! At my location Saturday Morning was the coldest, when it was -20.F for the low, Sunday Morning was -15.F at my location, on Saturday our high temp was only 2.F!

Cool temperatures will continue through this entire week, with highs maybe near the low teens, Lows will likely be below zero every night, A second cold wave of air will arrive late this week around Friday, Welcome to January!

Very Cold Arctic Air settling in for this weekend

Regional View

A Very Cold air mass from Canada has settled into the area, under Sunny Arctic High Pressure and, This high looks to stay in place through the weekend into early next week, Very cold temperatures will be experienced for this weekend before Moderating some towards Monday.

Local View

With this Arctic High Pressure in place, We can expect the coldest temperatures of this winter season so far, Highs will likely stay below zero on Saturday even with bright sunshine, and Wind chills will be near -30 below zero in some areas with any light winds. Lows Saturday Night will be very cold near -20 degrees in many locations with readings as low as -25 in Northern locations, Exteme spots may even fall close to -30.F for normally cold spots like Grantsburg and Minong, Sunday will continue be cold and sunny, but we will at least make it just above zero before falling back below zero for Sunday Night, Monday temps will moderate to near 10.F Daily Forecast Below.

Saturday, Very Cold with Arctic Sunshine, Very Cold wind chills, Highs around -5.F Saturday Night Clear and Very Cold! lows falling to near -20.F with lows as cold as -25.F possibly near -30 in some cold spots.

Sunday, Cold, Arctic Sunshine, Highs just above or below zero. Sunday Night, Cold lows near -15.F

Monday, Sunny, A bit warmer, Highs near 10.F Monday Night Cold, but a bit warmer, Lows near -10.F

As always my report of the coldest temps will be out after we reach our coldest levels of this arctic blast!

Looking Ahead Forecast. The models are showing Highs will moderate for the most of Next week but it will still be chilly, with highs maybe in the low teens, before another Arctic air mass moves in behind a weak clipper system the 6th, Temperature during this time look to again be very cold especially around the 7th 8th and 9th, Then it looks like warmer air arrives from the west the 10th, The model shows we could even get close to freezing during this time, with some light snow chances the 13th-15th, after this around the 17th, the models have been persistent on a warm air mass arriving from the west, Right now above 32 highs could be a good possibility, But as everyone should know especially this time of year, The models can change daily and show a totally new thing the next day, So I will continue to keep an eye on this.
