Winter Weather Advisory

Warm Friday, Then cooler condtions.

Weathermap for Friday Saturday and Sunday.

Friday, We will start off with some Very warm conditions and Sunshine. ahead of a weather system. I'm going with upper 80s. But it we get more of the warm air mass, I would not be surprised to see a possible 90.F temp With Sunny skies. Saturday, A weather system and cold front will begin to pull in. Because we have a warm and slightly moist air mass ahead of it, I will have to say, The chance for Strong to Severe storms IS there Saturday. At this time the models show a large area of rain/thunderstorms moving in. If the weather holds to the forecast models, Some areas may see some heavy rain. Just remember The chance is there for some Strong to severe storms Saturday. Sunday, The cold front will have moved passed. And it will give us cooler breezy conditions, and Sunshine. Detailed forecast below.

Friday, Very Warm, Sunny Highs in the upper 80s. a couple 90s possible. Friday Night, Cloudy, Maybe an Isolated storm. lows in the 60s.

Saturday, It appears things will turn out a bit different. Then I first though. It looks like Scattard Thunderstorms will move in early in the day, and then though out the day Saturday, Some storms could be strong. Some storms may also produce heavy rain. Saturday Night Cloudy Maybe some. lingering showers lows in the 60s.

Sunday, Cooler, Sunny breezy, Highs in the mid to upper 70s. Sunday Night Cooler, Partly Cloud lows in the 50s.

Looking ahead We stay dry for the starting of the week With a slow warming trend Then midweek chances for Showers or Storms come again. We might be getting Warm again late next week it's too early for me to tell.

Have a good Weekend. Remember we have Clear Lake Days going on in Clear Lakes this weekend!

Very Strong storms this morning Shelf Cloud photos.

A shelf cloud which passed just south of my house.

Well Typical June weather, Un predictable! Early This morning, Storms Developed over Central MN, and moved east, Then a second area of storms developed over the Twin Cities. This sent two waves of Strong storms across the South half of the area, The first one Went though St Croix and Dunn counties The radar hail indicator icons kept bouncing between 0.75 inch and 1.00 inch hail. There were no reports of severe hail, But I would believe at least some hail definitely would have fell somewhere. Also this storm brought lots of lightning and very heavy rain to places like Glenwood City and Menomonie. Gusty winds may have also been seen. This storm had no reports of damage.

Information about the storm which produced a Shelf cloud near me: As the first storm was passing though Dunn county I watched a very small embedded bowing storm develop near Osceola, it got the strongest Just south of Amery. By looking at the radar this storm was not producing rain like a strong storm typically does. this storm to appear weaker. I was surprised at what happened next. I watched a fairly large and very fast moving Shelf cloud pass me Just to the south. like maybe two blocks south. I thought it was pretty neat to watch, mostly because I was not expected a shelf cloud. It did get windy here as this cloud passed. But the worst winds would have been just to my south. It would have gone right over Clear Lake, so I believe that area would have gotten some strong winds. There was no reports of damage. But they were definitely strong storms, and it did make for some cool-looking clouds!

Hot temperature report! and interesting note!

Another sunset June 23rd.

With all the high moisture in the air, it really shows the red colors of the sunset.
Here is a chart with temps from highest to lowest.

Hot temperatures reported June 22-23 The hottest of 2009, so far! Tuesday is the day with highest temps. Tuesday, Everyone reported high temperatures in the 90s. From north to south. The main temperatures found were in the low 90s, but some spots made it to the mid 90s! The highest temp came from places in the West. Grantsburg and Baldwin reached the highest this time. With high dew points some heat indexes were near 100!

An interesting note!!! I looked back into my records to Compare last year to this year. Last year 2008 We did not reach the 90s until July 6Th. I also looked at noticed that My station only reported temperatures above 90.F twice last year! But part I found most interesting is the highest temperature I report in 2008 was 91.F Today June 23rd I reached 92.F We are already hotter then last year and Summer just started!

Slight Risk Tuesday

Image from SPC

The SPC has issued a slight risk of Severe Weather for much of the upper Midwest, Including the entire 6 county area. Thunderstorms may break out in Minnesota in the afternoon, and then move East towards the area. If thunderstorms Break out, They will likely be strong to Severe with Very Heavy Rain, Large Hail, Damaging winds. There also appears to me a tornado threat. This is something people should be aware of as we go though Tuesday.

We are Expected Hot weather across the area tomorrow be sure to check out my forcast at This Post For this hot weather event I will have temperature update above my live cam.

Just some nice photos!

Here is a photo of a Butterfly at the Joan & Mr Norm Murray's residence on the North side of Clayton when I went over there this afternoon. The butterfly didn't even move when I took this picture.

I took this photo of the Sunset here at my house, I thought it was such a good photo I thought I would share it. The intense colors are caused by the huge amount of moisture in the air.

Post About Peonies

Peonies in my garden June 22nd

Peonies are one of the best smelling flowers of the Summer season here in Western Wisconsin. They always bloom right around the first day of Calender summer. If you plant one, it may take a year or two for it to start blooming but it's worth it. They really take care of themselves. You often see Peonies planted in yards, especially older homesteads. Peonies Makes the list of flowers I would recommend for the Western Wisconsin Gardener.

Here is a old Fashioned peony These have been in our yard for over 20 years.
Dark red colored peony

Here is a photo of yesterdays Very heavy rain! We got 1.38" of rain here at Clayton,WI yesterday! We got heavy rain showers during the day, then, Thunderstorms moved in late last evening.

Forecast Below!

Hot&Stormy Weather.

Weathermap for Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday.

Let me start off by saying, It will Be Hot and Muggy the next few days, Like the June weather I always remembered. Some place could top 90 degrees! Another important thing to talk about is the chance of Severe Storms Tuesday, With the Muggy Hot Conditions we could be looking at some Severe Thunderstorms across they area. But if the cap does not break we wont see anything, but if it does, Expect the possible, good chance for severe weather across the 6 county area. This needs to be watched closely. Wednesday, We will continue the chance for Thunderstorms It appears there isn't any chance for severe storms Wednesday. Thursday It's right back to hot weather, with sunny skies. Detailed forecast below.

Tuesday, Hot, Muggy! A chance of Thunderstorms, Some could be severe. Highs in the upper 80s, some places could hit 90 or higher. Tuesday Night, Mild a chance of thunderstorms, Some could be severe, lows in the mid to upper 60s

Wednesday, A bit cooler A chance of Thunderstorms, Highs in the low to mid 80s. Wednesday Night partly cloudy to clear, lows in the low 60s.

Thursday Sunny and Hot! highs in the upper 80s, some places could top 90 or higher.
Thursday Night, Partly Cloudy, lows in the 60s.

Looking Ahead We will continue to be hot into Fri, Then a cold front moves though, With a chance of thunderstorms. This needs to be watched for the chance of severe weather. Highs will cool into the low 80s after this front passes.
