Well there you have it The first daffodil to bloom in my garden of 2009 from my Daffodil Project, and it sure picked a cool wet day to open. I will explain once again about the Daffodil Project. I am actually unable to grow daffodils in the ground over winter, They always end up mush in the spring, I have tried many times, so I came up with the idea of putting them in a fridge over winter, then plant them in the spring and it works GREAT for me. Although there is one thing I noticed. My daffodils do bloom a bit later then others around the area, there about a week or more later, but I don't mine. We still got awhile before they will be in Full bloom, so Expect more pictures as the days go by. Lets take note of something, Last year I kept track of planting a blooming times of my daffodil project, Last year I planted them April 5, 2008 and the first bloom came in on May 1st, 2008 This year we had an earlier snow melt so I was able to plant March 21, 2009 and now there blooming on April 26, 2009 so there only about a week earlier then last year. I would also like to say I added Tulips to the project this year, So far they are turning out good, should be blooming soon. Enjoy the pictures!

Interesting project. I am intrigued. What brought on the ten day difference between plant time and bloom time this year versus last?
